Still no...

dress. I still don't have a dress. And I feel okay with that. What I don't feel okay with is when people respond, "You still don't have a dress?" Like I'm screwed or how I don't understand that it takes months to create a run-of-the-mill (but still created just for you) dress. I have a plan and that's what keeps me from exploding. I really don't want a traditional dress. I find that most of them make me want to vomit. I also don't want something altered to my every curve. Most likely just a hem stitch or two will get the job done. I reckon I'll start looking late January when new garb is out. So if I don't need a bridal store's dress created just for me and I don't expect much altering, I can still come out on top with 5 months before June. Until then I'll just keep dodging those bullets. If it means anything, I have fallen in love with these:

Most likely I'll be walking down stairs and I don't want to tower my babe so flats are probably where it's at for me. This is my wedding, dudes. I want some bangin' ass shit.

Iris Cafe. Please Visit.

Saturday was rainy and nasty so we ran over to Columbia Pl. to hang/crash somewhere with coffee (Stumptown to be exact) and food (avocado sandwiches, yum) for the afternoon. I first heard of the new cafe through Paul and then followed up with the Brooklyn Heights Blog - Homer knows all the happenings in "America's first suburb." It's not a street we ever check out because there's only a laundry mat and most of the abandoned storefronts have newspaper on the windows. It's quite sad really because the street is gorgeous and the storefronts are perfect for cute shops: tin ceilings, exposed brick - all that jazz. Columbia Place comes off as a ghost town, but thankfully, this place is trying to bring some life back to the street. I really hope they stay for a while. So many places that are tiny and full of charm like this one always seem to disappear. Honestly though, the street traffic is zero so they need to get their website going to spread the word. That's what this is about: my little post and spreading the word through someone's random Google search. If you live in the area, please give it a try. Hopefully they can survive until the park is finished. It's going to beautiful. I wonder if we'll still be here? It will definitely help with getting some folks in there. Oh and once this massive block of condos is full, it should help as well. When I think about the area over by the waterfront in a few years, it really makes me want to move down there now before the rent blows up.

Sometimes I wonder

If we're going to burn down Raleigh come our wedding day, 06.26.10 . I guess I'll have to wish for a healthy, blissed out life w/ Paul and for a rain shower at a quarter past midnight.

My Home

I want to live here.

Wish List/Gift Guide For Me ( + other cool people)

This year Paul and I are spending the xmas holiday all tucked inside our little (cozy if the heat comes on) apartment. Normally we'd head south for North Carolina or even more south for Florida, where his brother lives. But we decided it would be best to stay home this year with 2010 being so money hungry. I'm actually very, very excited about it. I love when we have chunks of time off together and are left to wander in NYC.

Fujifilm Instax 200 - please see exhibit A.

exhibit A.

Korean Body Scrub - it hurts so good. Slough off, you crusty cells.

A new Stendig to replace our 2009 and bring in 2010. I'm so excited for 2010 I might need x2 of these because I want to be reminded of it every second.
